On Thursday, 11th June 2026, Cruxstone Development and Investment Limited joined the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, NIDCOM, and other key national stakeholders to welcome and support Nigerian returnees evacuated from South Africa following concerns over xenophobic attacks and the safety of Nigerians abroad.

The first batch of 262 Nigerians, comprising 258 evacuees and 4 officials, arrived safely at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, aboard an Air Peace evacuation flight fully funded by the Federal Government of Nigeria under the directive of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.

The returnees were received by a high-powered Federal Government delegation, including the Honourable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Dr. Bernard M. Doro; the Honourable Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Amb. Sola Enikanolaiye; Chairman/CEO of NIDCOM, Hon. Dr. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, OON; and representatives from NEMA, the Nigeria Immigration Service, NIMC, the Refugee Commission, and other relevant agencies.

As part of the reception and resettlement support, Cruxstone provided cash gifts to the returnees, reinforcing the company’s commitment to social impact, human dignity, and responsible corporate citizenship.

For Cruxstone, the gesture was more than an act of goodwill. It was a demonstration of the company’s belief that true development goes beyond buildings, infrastructure, and investments. The company further acknowledged the efforts of all participating agencies and partners who worked together to ensure the safe arrival, documentation, profiling, and onward support of the evacuees.

The returnees expressed appreciation to the Federal Government, NIDCOM, the Nigerian Missions in Pretoria and Johannesburg, and supporting organisations including Cruxstone for the assistance provided.
